Joliet Area Christian Co-op was started in 1992 as a means to enrich the learning experience through group classes in a loving Christian environment. JACC serves homeschooling families in the Joliet, Shorewood, Plainfield, Channahon, Minooka, Crest Hill, Lockport, New Lennox, Wilmington, Morris, and surrounding areas. Throughout the years JACC has gone through many changes, each change making us stronger and more efficient. As we begin the new school year we look forward to what God is doing in and through our group and we expectantly look toward the future. Our mission is to provide each child with growth opportunities as a means to encourage maturity, self– acceptance, and to learn interpersonal skills as they learn to cooperate with other children and adults on a personal level. For many children this will be their first experience outside their home and we hope to make it as enjoyable as possible. We believe in a true co-op experience which includes parents pooling their resources and expertise for the entire group. We need teachers, helpers, nursery workers, prayer warriors...everyone can offer something. It is our prayer not only the child will be encouraged in his or her learning and love of education, but the parent will also walk away from co-op feeling encouraged and supported in their home schooling effort. We will begin registration in August, but you may call anytime for information. |
